- Facts about Sewage Collection and Pumping
Baltimore County's well-maintained sewage system successfully handles about 40 billion gallons per year through its network of 3,000 miles of pipeline, 111 pumping stations, and 90,000 manholes. Some 99.98 percent of the wastewater handled by the system is pumped safely to wastewater treatment plants, without incident.
