The Baltimore County Department of Aging (BCDA) offers a wide range or programs and services for the older adults of the County. Our vision is to support older adults in "Living Longer, Living Well." Take a few moments to watch a video to learn more about the life-changing services and programs we offer.
The best resource for learning more about our department and the resources available in our region, is our Maryland Access Point or MAP of Baltimore County. MAP is the gateway point for information and referral for older adults over 60, people with disabilities, families and caregivers. Call MAP at 410-887-2594.
BCDA offers the following services:
- Twenty senior centers throughout the County and OPAL, our virtual senior center
- Caregiver and Dementia Friendly support and resources
- Technology resources for keeping aging residents connected
- Publications and media, including social media, our community resources directory, and our "Time of Your Life" digest and TV show
- Exciting partnership and sponsorship opportunities in order to connect businesses and nonprofits with the services our clients need and request, as well as provide target-marketing to older adults, baby boomers, caregivers, families, adults with disabilities, and professionals. Age-Friendly Baltimore County
After five years of innovative and forward-thinking work, Baltimore County is pleased to share our Final Report addressing priority areas, such as Transportation, Outdoor Spaces, Communication, Community Health and Housing. This Final Report is the result of countless partners who offered their expertise, energy, and enthusiasm to make the County a place where residents of all ages and abilities can work, play, and enjoy a good quality of life. Our Age-Friendly initiative ensures that persons of all ages, cultures, abilities and interests can access the resources they need to create the life they choose.
