Opioid Overdose Response Training
The Baltimore County Department of Health is offering free, two-hour training sessions online via Webex on how to recognize, prevent and respond to an opioid overdose by using intranasal naloxone—a prescription medication that is used to reverse an overdose that cannot be used to get high and it is not addictive.
ABOUT THE TRAINING
Individuals concerned that a loved one is at risk for overdosing on heroin or prescription pain medication and those with certificates that will expire within the next three months are encouraged to attend this training.
TOPICS
Training participants will learn:
- What an opioid is
- How to recognize, respond to and prevent an opioid overdose
- How to administer intranasal naloxone to reverse an overdose
PRE-REGISTER NOW
Preregistration is required. A link to the training application will be sent prior to the start of the training. CERTIFICATE AND NALOXONE KIT
Attendees will receive a completion certificate, a prescription for naloxone and a kit containing the medication. Kit distribution will occur one to three days after the training. Information will be provided during the training regarding distribution location.
