Baltimore County Commission for Women Seeks Nominees for 43rd Annual Women of the Year Awards

March 10, 2025

TOWSON, MD — The Baltimore County Commission for Women is seeking nominations for its 43rd annual Women of the Year Awards honoring women for their outstanding contributions to the community.

Nominations are open until 4 p.m. on Monday, April 28.

“The Women of the Year Awards honor trailblazing women across Baltimore County who have contributed to their communities, championed the needs of women, served as role models, and enhanced the lives of county residents,” said Baltimore County Executive Kathy Klausmeier. “As a former vice president of the Commission for Women, these awards are dear to my heart, and we’re thrilled to invite residents to once again nominate the incredible women who make a difference in our lives and inspire us every day.”

Each year, the Baltimore County Commission for Women accepts nominations for "Woman of the Year," "Young Woman of the Year," "Woman Making a Difference,” and “Woman Entrepreneur of the Year" awards.

The “Woman of the Year” award honors women residents of Baltimore County who have made significant, unique and lasting contributions within their community to champion the interests and needs of women and families; serve as role models of inspiration and achievement for other women; or enhance the lives of the citizens of Baltimore County.

Nominees for "Young Woman of the Year" must be a high school senior attending a Baltimore County school who is a proven leader and has made an extraordinary impact on her school and community through volunteering.

The “Woman Entrepreneur of the Year” should have evidence of mentoring others, have contributed to community-oriented projects and examples of responding to adversity.

One woman—including college students—among the nominees who have made a powerful impact on the community through volunteer efforts will be recognized as "Woman Making a Difference."

Nominees must reside in Baltimore County for a minimum of three years. Previous winners and elected officials are not eligible. Winners will be recognized at an awards ceremony in late spring
