The County Executive has declared the following proclamations—dedicating certain days, weeks or months—to bring recognition and awareness to certain causes, events or individuals of great importance.

National Mentoring Month
Recognition of mentors who shape youth and increase quality of life for many.

January 

Operation HON
Operation HON (Heat on Now) Ice House Experience is a three-day fundraising event that allows people to visit a “house” made out of 300-pound blocks of ice and “share the power” with their neighbors in need. Visitors will truly experience what it is like to be in a home without heat or electricity during cold winter months.

World Wetlands Day
An annual celebration every February to raise global awareness about the vital role of wetlands for people and our planet.

National Wear Red Day
Recognition of the fight against heart diseases, the number one killer of women in the U.S. and the need to spread awareness around the issue.

International Networking Week
Celebration of the the key role that networking plays in the development and success of businesses across the world, and particularly in the business communities located in the BNI Shore region.

League of Women Voters
Recognition of the League of Women Voters.

Certified Government Financial Manager Month
Celebration of the Baltimore Association of Government Accountants chapter members' professionalism and service to Baltimore County.

World Wildlife Day
Celebration of the plant and animal wildlife and their important role in our cultures and the sustainability of our societies.

Solar Appreciation Day
Recognition of the importance of solar power and what it does to help environmental causes in our community. Baltimore County is committed to energy conservation, resource management and incorporating sustainability, both community-wide and within its operations.

International Day of Forests
Celebration of Baltimore County's forests and the continued push to increase and maintain them and their vital functions.

Earth Month
Celebration of nature and a renewed call to protect it from all kinds of harm.

National Arab American Heritage Month
Recognition of local Arab Americans and their valuable contributions to virtually every aspect of our society, including medicine, law, business, education, technology, government, military service and culture.

National Volunteer Week
Celebration and encouragement to volunteers who have helped tackle the County's greatest challenges, while supporting and growing our community.

National Environmental Education Week
Celebration of the environment as well as the partnership between educators, students and businesses to raise awareness of environmental causes in our community.

National Foster Care Month
Celebration of the care foster parents give to children in need and their importance in the community.

Children's Mental Health Awareness Week
Recognition of mental health problems in our youth community and the need to spread education and awareness.

World Falun Dafa Day
Recognition of the peaceful and moral teachings of Falun Gong—the spiritual discipline of mind and body, consisting of free moral teachings for daily life, meditation and gentle exercises—and its impact on millions, including those in our community.

Gun Violence Awareness Day
Awareness of deadly incidents in our community. Protecting public safety is a government’s highest responsibility and support for the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens goes hand-in-hand with keeping guns away from people with dangerous histories.

Katipinan Philippine Festival Day
Celebration of the local Philippine community, the promotion of its culture and the anniversary of the Filipino festival.

Protect Older Americans from Financial Exploitation Week
Recognition of the problems facing elder exploitation, and the need to spread awareness and education.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated Delta Lambda Chapter Day
Honors the Centennial Celebration of the Delta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity Incorporated founded on May 19, 1919 in Baltimore by 11 Alpha men.

In recognition of our parks' and recreation importance to our youth and quality of life.

Adult Day Services Week 
Recognition of "Active Day," Timonium's amazing program for seniors and adults with special needs.

Middle River Aviation Day 
In recognition of the legacy of Middle River Aerostructure Systems on national aerospace craft and development, as well as their continued commitment to modernity and innovation.

In support of small businesses around Baltimore County.

BCAC Deltas Day
To recognize this organization as they have a crab feast to raise money for scholarships to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
