Tax Aide Counseling
Beginning February 2025, the AARP Tax-Aide program, in collaboration with the Baltimore County Department of Aging, will be providing free tax preparation and electronic filing services at select senior centers and other locations throughout Baltimore County and Baltimore City. Services are for individuals with low-to-moderate income, with an emphasis on those aged 60 and above.
Preparations will be by appointment only, with reservations beginning Monday, January 13, 2025 at the County senior center locations. Appointments will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. There are no guarantees that appointments can be rescheduled if necessary. Anyone who thinks that there may be a delay in receiving their 2024 tax documents is advised to schedule an appointment for later in the season.
Clients are asked to arrive to their appointments 15 minutes early to complete paperwork. To request an American Sign Language interpreter or other accommodation, proceed with scheduling an appointment and then call 410-887-3101.
To help facilitate the preparations, the following documents, as applicable, are required:
- Last year’s tax return. Those who did not file last year should bring the form for the last year filed
- Photo Id for all persons claimed on the tax return
- Social Security Card for all persons claimed on the tax return
- List of all deductions and expenses to be claimed
- W-2’s
- 1099-R’s
