Maryland Access Point
Maryland Access Point (MAP) is the Baltimore County Department of Aging's (BCDA) gateway point for information and referral services. MAP provides information and referral to:

Resources and services are available for County residents. Individuals seeking resources and services outside of Baltimore County should call the main state MAP at 1-844-627-5465 to be connected with their local county area agency on aging.
Services Provided
MAP provides a variety of services related to information and referral including:
- Screening for benefits and services
- Connection to services within BCDA
- Connection to services or assistance with outside agencies
- Options counseling to help individuals and their families make informed decisions on long-term care options
- Distribution of various brochure and literatures on BCDA and community services

Community Outreach Specialists are staff who work with older adults age 60 and older in the community to assist with:
- Screening for benefits and services via Options Counseling
- Assist in applying for public benefits and subsidized services
MAP operates a durable medical equipment loan closet, which contains a variety of equipment available for loan for Baltimore County residents age 60 and over. Examples of equipment include:
- Bedside commodes
- Canes
- Dressing aids
- Rollators
- Shower seats
- Walkers
- Wheelchairs
Some equipment will require a $25 refundable deposit. Pickup and drop-offs are arranged by appointment only. There is no home delivery for the items. The loan closet is located at the Bykota Senior Center at 611 Central Avenue in Towson, Maryland 21204.
MAP staff can demonstrate various pieces of small assistive devices which assist in daily activities such as dressing, bathing, medication management, safety and memory. Some of these devices provide specialized assistance for people with various disabilities such as vision impairments, hearing impairments, arthritis and dementia. Upon conclusion of the demonstration, MAP staff can make recommendations on various vendors and programs to obtain the equipment.
Demonstrations take place at the Bykota Senior Center in Towson and are available by appointment only.
Individuals and organizations may request a guest speaker or presenter from the Department of Aging.

- Senior Call Check—A free automated call check-in call for older adults age 65 and older.
- Independent Marylanders Achieving Growth Through Empowerment Inc, The IMAGE Center—Provides services and information and referral for younger individuals with disabilities.
