Animal Services is responsible for enforcing the laws that protect animals, sheltering and returning stray pets to their owners and promoting responsible pet ownership.

NEWS
- Senior Pet Month—Throughout November, BCAS is offering PetSmart gift cards with all adoptions of pets 7 years or older!
- Home for the Holidays—Now through January 1, BCAS will be waiving all adoption fees to help find homeless pets a home for the holidays! All available pets are spayed/neutered and vaccinated. Dogs and cats are also microchipped.
- Pet Surrenders—We encourage families to seek placement of pets with friends or family before surrendering your pet to the shelter. There are lots of resources to help keep pets with their families. If you need to surrender your pet to the shelter, an appointment is required. To get assistance with rehoming your animal or scheduling an appointment, please call 410-887-7297.
- Volunteers Wanted—If you're dedicated to walking dogs or caring for cats and critters, come volunteer with us! Inquire about hosting an event with the Adoption Express Cuddle Shuttle by emailing bcasvolunteer@baltimorecountymd.gov.
- Fosters Wanted—We’re actively looking for fosters for puppies, adult dogs, orphaned kittens, mother cats with kittens and medical cases. Supplies and medical care are provided. If you’re interested in fostering, submit an application.
- Work With Us—BCAS is seeking qualified, compassionate, highly motivated individuals to join our dynamic team. We offer career opportunities in shelter operations, veterinary medicine and field services.
- Microchipping—Call BCAS at 410-887-PAWS (7297) to schedule a $10 microchipping appointment.

WILDLIFE CONTROL
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) provides formation, referrals, and services for wildlife nuisances, conservation, rescue and rehabilitation. It is generally illegal to trap raccoons, foxes, squirrels, opossums, skunks, deer, rabbits, snakes and most birds, unless the landowner has obtained a valid permit from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
