SEWER RELINING PROJECT IN CARNEY, PERRY HALL AND TOWSON
The Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPWT) started an extensive sewer relining project (including manholes) in Carney, Perry Hall and Towson in May 2021 (the Gunpowder Project). It's 82 percent complete; most of the 67,000 feet of sewer line has been lined and the manhole work remains to be done. The project will cost about $5.8 million. Construction will be primarily below ground with minimal impact to communities. However, with any project of this scale, there may be some traffic or parking issues and occasional chemical odors. DPWT staff will issue periodic updates.
