CITIZEN INPUT MEETING FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FISCAL YEAR 2024 TO 2029 FORMULATION
Join the meeting on Thursday, October 20, at 5 p.m. in the Jefferson Building Hearing Room, 105 West Chesapeake Avenue, Room 104, Towson, Maryland 21204. The County’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) is a six-year plan authorizing the funding for capital improvements such as roads, sewers, parks and schools. The Citizen Input Meeting (CIM) is an in-person meeting scheduled for citizens to comment on your priorities for the upcoming years.
Anyone wishing to testify in-person for the CIM must use the sign-in sheets provided in the Jefferson Building lobby outside of Room 104 for citizens to address the Board (for themselves or as representatives of organizations or clients). These sheets will be posted approximately half an hour prior to the Board Meeting start time.

SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES KICKOFF MEETING: CATONSVILLE AND ESSEX
Join the meeting virtually on Tuesday, October 11, at 6 p.m. through Webex. The Department of Planning is beginning the process of renewing two Sustainable Community applications: Catonsville and Essex. Sustainable Communities is a State designation program that offers designated communities a comprehensive package of resources that support holistic strategies for community development, revitalization and sustainability. Obtaining the designation opens eligibility for State programs and resources (PDF) such as Community Legacy and the Strategic Demolition Fund. We invite you to participate in framing your community’s priorities for the next five years.

SECURITY SQUARE MALL CHARRETTE/DESIGN PROCESS
Join the workshops and sessions on Wednesday, October 12 through Saturday, October 22. Times vary, so see the schedule on the website. In-person sessions will take place at the Set the Captives Free Outreach Center, 6901 Security Boulevard, Windsor Mill, Maryland 21244 and virtual meetings will take place through Webex.
Baltimore County will host a design charrette, a collaborative process that will engage Woodlawn-area residents and community leaders in reimagining the Security Square Mall area. The charrette will provide a forum for ideas and feedback, allowing everyone who participates to contribute as an author of the plan for the site. View the press release for more details.

RIBBON CUTTING FOR BALTIMORE COUNTY’S FIRST DESTINATION PLAYGROUND
Join us for a ribbon cutting for Baltimore County’s first destination playground in partnership with the Baltimore Ravens, at Northwest Regional Park, Lyons Mill Road Entrance, 4515 Deer Park Road, Owings Mills, Maryland 21117. This event will take place on Monday, October 17, at 10 a.m. with special guests County Executive Johnny Olszewski, Council Chair Julian Jones, Roslyn Johnson, Director, Department of Recreation and Parks, and Sashi Brown, President, Baltimore Ravens.

REISTERSTOWN ROAD WATER MAIN PROJECT (DESIGNATED PHASE III)
Baltimore County has begun a major water main project, replacing 16,000 feet of line in Reisterstown Road between Pleasant Hill Road and Stocksdale Avenue. The three miles of new 16- and 20-inch diameter line is 40 percent complete and is scheduled to be finished in the spring of 2024.
