CAL RIPKEN, SR. FOUNDATION YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PARK GROUNDBREAKING AT FIELDS AT RENAISSANCE PARK
The Department of Recreation and Parks will host a groundbreaking on Monday, November 7, at 10 a.m. at the Fields at Renaissance Park, 99 Stemmers Run Road, Essex, Maryland 21221. This groundbreaking ceremony will celebrate a partnership between the County, the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, the Chesapeake Gateway Chamber of Commerce, and Our Lady of Mount Carmel School. In addition, the ceremony will kick off the upgrades to the park, which will greatly expand upon recreational opportunities in the greater Essex-Stembridge area. Special guests include County Executive Johnny Olszewski and Roslyn Johnson, Director of the Department of Recreation and Parks.
MIDDLE RIVER RECREATION ACTIVITY CENTER GROUNDBREAKING
The Department of Recreation and Parks will host a groundbreaking on Thursday, November 17, at 10 a.m. at Glenmar Elementary School, 9700 Community Drive, Middle River, Maryland 21220, to celebrate the second new Recreation Activity Center “RAC” in Baltimore County. Special guests include County Executive Johnny Olszewski, Councilwoman Cathy Bevins and Roslyn Johnson, Director of the Department of Recreation and Parks.
OREGON RIDGE REGIONAL PARK MASTER PLAN PUBLIC MEETINGS
The Department of Recreation and Parks will host public meetings as follows:

The meetings will present the concept plan, which will shape the future of Oregon Ridge Regional Park. Participants will have the opportunity to provide comments and ask questions. In order to improve the park's features and ensure that Oregon Ridge continues to serve residents, the department initiated a master planning process, led by Lardner/Klein Landscape Architects. The master plan provides an assessment of current conditions and guidance for park improvements over the next two decades.

SECURITY SQUARE MALL CHARRETTE/DESIGN PROCESS CLOSING PRESENTATION

SEWER PROJECT ON BAUERS FARM ROAD, EDGEMERE
Baltimore County is currently constructing the County-designed Bauers Farm Road sewer extension health project. The project includes four grinder pumps and will cost $406,000. Begun in May, it's 94 percent complete and was anticipated to be finished in October.

RED HOUSE RUN STRUCTURAL SEWER REHABILITATION
Baltimore County has started a major sewer rehabilitation project consisting of almost 15 miles of sewer line in the Overlea and Rosedale areas. Work on the $4.7 million project began in June and is expected to take about a year and a half to complete. It's four percent complete and should be finished by the end of 2023. The Red House Run Structural Sewer Rehabilitation project is part of the County's Consent Decree—its agreement with the EPA to improve the entire sanitary system.

MILLERS ISLAND SEWAGE PUMPING STATION
Baltimore County is working on a $3 million renovation of the Millers Island Sewage Pumping Station at 8819 Millers Island Road. A sewer bypass was installed in October 2021 in preparation for the project, which includes extensive electrical and mechanical work in addition to a new roof and generator. The renovation of this two-pump station is expected to be completed this year; it's 94 percent toward that goal.

TURKEY POINT PUMPING STATION REHABILITATION
Baltimore County is renovating the Turkey Point Sewage Pumping Station. It's 96 percent complete. The cost is $3.2 million.

BREAD AND CHEESE SEWER IMPROVEMENTS
Baltimore County is relining 26,000 feet of eight-inch diameter sewer pipe in the Bread and Cheese Creek area. The improvement project is 98 percent complete. (Some additional work was recently added to the contract.) When finished, the project will cost $2.25 million.

ST. HELENA WATER MAIN PROJECT
Baltimore County began replacing 13,600 feet of failing cast-iron water pipe in November 2021 on St. Helena Avenue (from the City Line to Dundalk Avenue) and in the area between Oak Avenue and Maple Avenue. The project will cost $5.5 million and is expected to be completed this fall. Crews began working following mobilization in February. It's 60 percent toward its completion goal.

GRAY MANOR SEWERSHED STRUCTURAL REHABILITATION
Baltimore County contractors began an extensive rehabilitation of the Gray Manor Sewershed in December 2020. Crews are relining 37,369 feet of eight-inch and 36-inch sewer pipe in a project that is anticipated to take more than a year to complete. The project is 99 percent complete.
