Reisterstown Road Water Main Project (Designated Phase III)
Baltimore County has begun a major water main project, replacing 16,000 feet of line in Reisterstown Road between Pleasant Hill Road and Stocksdale Avenue. The three miles of new 16- and 20-inch diameter line is 79 percent complete and is scheduled to be finished this spring.
Information: Email engineering@baltimorecountymd.gov.
Rolling Road, Phase 1B (Between Six Point Court and Orchard Avenue)
Construction includes roadway widening, storm drain and inlet installation, curb and gutter, and sidewalk. Overall construction is expected to last approximately one year at a cost of $6 million; however, two-way traffic will be maintained throughout the duration of the construction. By phasing the maintenance of traffic, the need to use flaggers will be nominal. Extensive temporary signage to direct traffic and allow temporary shifts during the phased construction are included. This project is seven percent complete.
Liberty Road 12-Inch Water Main Replacement
The Department of Public Works and Transportation began a one-year-long water main replacement project. The project is located in the western part of Baltimore County along Liberty Road (Maryland Route 26) from Rolling Road to Washington Avenue. The project includes replacing 6,500 linear feet of six-, eight- and 12-inch water mains at a cost of $5.8 million. Working hours will be 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday to Friday. The project is 26 percent complete.
Information: Email engineering@baltimorecountymd.gov.
Bens Run at Old Court Road
The Bens Run at Old Court Road stream restoration will begin in-stream construction on June 15 after the Use I Stream Closure opens. The project aims to restore 3,991 linear feet of degraded stream channel. The mainstem project starts at Liberty Road, crosses under Old Court Road and ends about 1,100 linear feet downstream of Old Court Road behind Northwest Hospital.
The Unnamed Tributary to Bens Run part of the project begins behind the stormwater pond facility at Winfield Elementary School and ends at Carlson Lane. The aging sanitary sewer system within the stream channel between Liberty Road and Old Court Road was repaired in April. The stream contractor is Triangle Contracting LLC and the project designer is Century Engineering.
Questions or concerns about the project can be directed to the Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability project manager, Megan Barger, at 410-887-2904 or mbarger@baltimorecountymd.gov.
