BaltCo Litter Blitz Cleanups
From April through May, organizations, individuals and groups are invited to register to host BaltCo Litter Blitz cleanups. Visit the Litter Blitz interactive hub website to register and put your cleanup on the map. You will have the choice to show your cleanup as private, or provide your contact information for volunteers to join in. The Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability is offering a small quantity of work gloves and trash bags (while supplies last), a social media outreach toolkit and tips for organizing a community cleanup.
We hope that your group will participate and help keep our neighborhoods and waterways free of litter. If you need further information, please email GreenTeam@baltimorecountymd.gov.
Reisterstown Road Water Main Project (Designated Phase III)
Baltimore County has begun a major water main project, replacing 16,000 feet of line in Reisterstown Road between Pleasant Hill Road and Stocksdale Avenue. The three miles of new 16- and 20-inch diameter line is 73 percent complete and is scheduled to be finished this spring.
Information: Email engineering@baltimorecountymd.gov.
Rolling Road, Phase 1B (Between Six Point Court and Orchard Avenue)
Construction includes roadway widening, storm drain and inlet installation, curb and gutter, and sidewalk. Overall construction is expected to last approximately one year at a cost of $6 million; however, two-way traffic will be maintained throughout the duration of the construction. By phasing the maintenance of traffic, the need to use flaggers will be nominal. Extensive temporary signage to direct traffic and allow temporary shifts during the phased construction are included. This project is three percent complete.
Liberty Road 12-Inch Water Main Replacement
The Department of Public Works and Transportation began a one-year-long water main replacement project. The project is located in the western part of Baltimore County along Liberty Road (Maryland Route 26) from Rolling Road to Washington Avenue. The project includes replacing 6,500 linear feet of six-, eight- and 12-inch water mains at a cost of $5.8 million. Working hours will be 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday to Friday. The project is 20 percent complete.
Information: Email engineering@baltimorecountymd.gov.
