Wanted Suspect Taken into Custody in Harford County

After a ten day stay at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center, we are happy to share that Baltimore County Police Detective Chih has been discharged. Detective Chih and his family are extremely grateful for the amazing care that was provided by the staff and surgeons at Shock Trauma. As Detective Chih continues to recover, he and his family would also like to thank his colleagues and the community for their outpouring of support. As the family continues along this journey, they would ask their privacy continue to be respected and they remain in your thoughts and prayers.

At approximately 5:45 a.m. on Friday, February 10, 24-year-old David Linthicum was taken into custody in Harford County. Linthicum was wanted in connection with two separate shootings, each involving a Baltimore County police officer. The second shooting occurred around 9:30 Thursday night after a Baltimore County detective encountered Linthicum walking along Warren Road near Bosley Road. The detective was patrolling the area in reference to the Linthicum manhunt. When the detective engaged with the person, the subject produced a rifle and began shooting at the detective, striking him multiple times. The wanted subject then stole the injured officer's vehicle. The suspect bailed out of the vehicle shortly after crossing into Harford County in the 2300 block of Belair Road. Members of law enforcement took the suspect into custody around 5:45 this morning in Harford County. The Baltimore County detective remains in Shock Trauma where he is being treated. Linthicum is now in the custody of Baltimore County Police.
