ARRESTS MADE IN ATTEMPTED MURDER
UPDATE April 27, 2023
Detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department arrested two suspects in connection with the April 10, 2023, shooting that occurred in White Marsh. Detectives have determined the shooting occurred on White Marsh Boulevard between Bel Air Road and Perry Hall Boulevard. The shooting happened as the suspects pulled along the victim’s car and began to fire several shots into the driver’s side window, which caused the victim’s vehicle to crash.
52-year-old Michael A. Carthen and a 17-year-old juvenile face multiple charges, including attempted murder, assault, and use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence. Both suspects are being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

Although posts to social media suggest this shooting occurred on mall property, evidence does not support that. The injured person was driven to a local restaurant in the 8200 block of Perry Hall Blvd. in an effort to seek help.

On April 10, 2023, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers with the Baltimore County Police Department responded to the 8200 block of Perry Hall Blvd., 21236, to investigate a reported assault. When officers arrived, they located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department Violent Crimes Unit continue investigating the circumstances surrounding this case. At this time, this is believed to be an isolated incident.
