Domestic Dispute Under Investigation

Detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department have identified the victim in Saturday’s fatal shooting as 40-year-old Franklin Valera. This case remains part of an open investigation.

Detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department continue investigating the circumstances surrounding a reported domestic-related assault that resulted in a fatal shooting on Saturday, June 10, 2023. At approximately 7 p.m., officers responded to the scene of the incident in the area of Rader Avenue and Oakdale Road. where they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. The adult male was pronounced deceased at the scene. Preliminarily, it appears this incident occurred during a domestic dispute. All parties involved have been identified, and there is no threat to the community at this time.
Homicide Detectives are asking anyone with information about this shooting to contact 410-307-2020. Information may also be provided through the Baltimore County Police Department iWATCH program. Callers may remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward when submitting tips through Metro Crime Stoppers.
