Baltimore County Police Pay Tribute to Fallen hero Sergeant Bruce Prothero

Members of the Baltimore County Police Department are honoring fallen hero Sergeant Bruce Prothero by wearing a memorial ribbon bar on their uniform or band on their badge today. On February 7, 2000, Sergeant Prothero was shot and killed during a robbery at a Pikesville jewelry store. Sergeant Prothero had served 13 years with the Baltimore County Police Department at the time of his death. He left behind a wife and five young children. Sgt. Prothero’s sacrifice will never be forgotten. His name is among those inscribed on the Baltimore County Police Department Memorial located in Towson at Patriot Plaza.
