Regional Auto Theft Task Force Recognized During Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Observance Service
On Friday, January 17, 2025, Regional Auto Theft Task Force members were recognized by Operation P.U.L.S.E. (People United to Live in a Safe Environment) during its 3rd Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration. This year’s event theme is Praying for Peace in the Community, Remembering the Dream. Operation P.U.L.S.E., in partnership with Johns Hopkins Public Safety and Zion Baptist Church, hosted today’s event. Among those to receive a P.U.L.S.E. Community Award were members of the Regional Auto Theft Task Force (RATT) for their dedication and commitment to keeping communities in the region safe.
“I want to commend the exceptional efforts of the Regional Auto Theft Task Force and all its members, both past and present,” said Baltimore County Police Chief Robert O. McCullough. “This partnership between our Department, Maryland State Police, Baltimore Police, Anne Arundel County Police, and Maryland Transportation Authority Police showcases the strength of collaboration in safeguarding the communities we serve.”
RATT, which was established on January 2, 1995, by the Maryland Vehicle Theft Prevention Council, is celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year. To date, the Council refers to the program as its “most prominent success.” During 2024, RATT recovered approximately 1,330 vehicles valued at more than $20,000,000.00.
Operation P.U.L.S.E., in partnership with Johns Hopkins Public Safety, is a crime prevention initiative designed to have a positive impact in removing crime and violence from the East Baltimore community.
