Plumbing and Gasfitting Board
The Plumbing and Gasfitting Board is established by Section 3-3-1501 et seq. of the Baltimore County Code. The Board advises and assists the Director of the Department of Permits, Approvals and Inspections (PAI) regarding the administration of Article 21, Title 15, of the Baltimore County Code governing Plumbers, Gasfitters, Disposal System Contractors, Water Pump Contractors and Drain and Sewer Cleaners, including licensing.
The County Executive appoints the chairman of the Plumbing and Gasfitting Board.
The Chief Plumbing Inspector serves as the secretary of the Board.
The Buildings Engineer for the Department of Permits, Approvals and Inspections, is responsible for the interpretation and enforcement of the County building, fire and related codes. He oversees the Plumbing Boards as well as the Plumbing Code Committee.
The Plumbing and Gasfitting Code of Baltimore County was adopted in Bill 94-23. The bill adopts the 2021 International Plumbing Code (IPC).
MEETINGS
The Plumbing Board meets as the need arises on the second and fourth Friday of each month beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Board Room, which is located in the basement at:
